A clear no. 1

83 % of companies use job advertisements. It is a number that has grown gradually over the years since the recruitment analysis has been carried out. It may be an expression of the fact that social media has made it easier for most companies to "advertise" the job and have it shared with potential applicants.

A strong recommendation for you:

  • Register in e.g., AAU Jobbank and receive the job postings that suit you and what you are looking for.
  • Spend time familiarising yourself with the job posting and targeting your application and CV accordingly.

 

LinkedIn storms forward

In 10 years, LinkedIn has gone from 10 % to 59 % in the recruitment analysis – and has overtaken the physical network along the way. It is, therefore, an obvious place for you to be – even if you have not yet completed your education.

The career counsellors at AAU recommend that you create a profile while you are a student, so that you can already benefit from LinkedIn.

Large and small – private and public

There are some clear differences in which type of recruitment channels the different types of companies use.

This is good to know if you are looking for a specific type of workplace:

  • Small private companies generally recruit quite spontaneously. They often use network and Facebook and have significantly fewer job advertisements.
  • The large private companies are active within all channels.
  • Public employers primarily use job ads – and they must because of Danish law. But be aware that the requirement for job ads in the public sector does not prohibit them from networking.
