Important information if you are using MacOS

Give permissions to Observer

  1. 1

If you have never previously granted screen recording permission, some versions of macOS may prompt you with a system settings dialog. You will not be able to use Observer until you go to Privacy & Security and allow Observer to record your screen. If you deny permission, you will not be able to record your screen and therefore cannot meet the exam requirements.

  2. 2

If you previously granted permission but later removed the checkmark, you will also be unable to record your screen. However, you will not be prompted with the system settings dialog again (i.e., you must locate it yourself).

  3. 3

System preferences and Privacy & Security may look different depending on your macOS version, but in general, you need to open System preferences. Under Privacy & Security, allow Observer to take screen recordings by checking the box next to Observer

Please note

  • Only the newest versions of MacOS are supported.
  • We do NOT recommend using multiple desktops when using Observer on MacOS.
  • It is important that you allow Observer to run correctly on your Mac.
