Important information if you are using Linux

Its is possible to use Linux for an exam with Observer. However, please note the following:

• It only works as a Debian package, i.e., for example on Ubuntu, Debian, or Mint
• It only works with X11 and not Wayland (This is mentioned to you when testing for permissions at the beginning, if Wayland is in use)
• The taskbar icon does not get a red badge/circle, but only a red border around the screen

Please also be advised that the Observer client for Linux is unsupported, which means you cannot receive assistance from IT Support. We strongly recommend testing your system setup by taking an Observer demo exam before Exam Day.
