What problem do you want to solve?

In professional football, large amounts of data are collected about the players' movements during matches. Today, most of this data is only analyzed after the match, when the coaches have already made their decisions.

At Alai, we are working to make data useful while the match is still being played. We have developed a technology that automatically analyzes the players' positions in real time and helps coaches and analysts detect tactical opportunities and risks immediately. For example, these could be situations where the team is vulnerable to a counterattack, or where a player had an obvious opportunity that was not exploited.

The purpose is to give the coaching staff a better overview in a hectic match and save time on manual analysis work.

How has the AAU Startup Grant contributed to your development?

The AAU Startup Grant has been crucial in an important phase of our development. The funds have enabled us to further develop the technology and test it in collaboration with professional clubs and national teams.

At the same time, the recognition from AAU has strengthened our credibility in the dialogue with partners both in Denmark and internationally.

What is your next step?

The next step is to expand the solution to more leagues and national federations in Europe.

We are working to make our technology a permanent tool for professional coaches and analysts, so that data is not only used for evaluation after the match, but can also actively influence decisions along the way.

At the same time, we continue to develop new features so that we can create even greater value before, during and after the match.
