There is a general increase in global companies and as a result, there is an increasing demand for graduates who can meet the challenges that come with globalisation. Studying Operations and Management Engineering at AAU CPH, you learn to develop and execute development strategies in an international perspective.
Offshoring and outsourcing of different activities within a company’s value chain are creating a completely new managerial agenda. This study programme will give you the expertise needed to analyse, understand and solve the challenges associated with the disintegration and globalisation of a company’s value chain. In addition, the study programme addresses the globalisation challenges from an innovation perspective by investigating the problems and opportunities in developing innovative global business models and systems.
The Master's programme provides you with competences in international strategy and change processes, and you gain tools for analysis, organisation, and development in a global context.
Furthermore, the study programme focuses on the globalisation challenges faced by a wide range of different companies and industries – for example pharmaceutical companies, companies in the service and IT industries as well as industrial companies.
This is a full-time study programme, which is characterised by problem based project work in groups. You will be working closely with other students most of the time, and you are required to be present at the university on a daily basis and spend a vast majority of your day there.
In your semester projects, you and your project group will work with relevant issues in relation to operations and management engineering, that challenge you to use all of your knowledge to come up with possible solutions. You are encouraged to collaborate with external organisations and businesses in your projects to get an idea of the work processes and current issues in the industry. This will prepare you better for your own work life after you graduate.
If you complete the Master’s programme, you are entitled to the designation Master of Science (MSc) in Engineering (Operations and Management Engineering).
Graduates from the study programme typically work as managers, specialists and consultants in a wide range of different organisations such as Carlsberg, Vestas, Danske Bank, Accenture, IBM and Siemens.

PROBLEM based learning (PBL)
Aalborg University is famous for its problem based learning where you work in a team on a large written assignment often collaborating with an industrial partner. This study method is also called “The Aalborg Model for Problem Based Learning”. The method is highly recognised internationally, and the university is host to a successful UNESCO chair in Problem Based Learning in Engineering Education and a Centre for PBL and Sustainability approved by UNESCO.
